The University of Genoa, in order to help students in finding the best accommodation for their needs, organizes, a free service of accommodation research through the Foreign students accomodation service (SASS)
Italian Language Courses
The University of Genoa organizes, with the contribution of the European Commission, Italian Language courses for foreign students, completely free of charge. The major aim of the courses is to provide students with the linguistic tools which will enable them to make the best of their stay in Genoa.
Structure and duration of the courses
- Beginners (50H)
- Intermediate and Advanced (40H)
Dates of beginning of the courses:
- September the 7th 2015 (intensive course)
- September the 21st 2015
- October the 20th 2015
- February the 8th 2016
- March the 7th 2016
The courses are divided into levels from A1 (breakthrough) to C2 (mastery) in keeping with the criteria laid down by the Common European Framework of Reference for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe.
The students have to sit for an entrance test.
The classes are established on the basis of the test results - the test usually coincides with the beginning of the course - and do not exceed 35 students.
All the teachers are specialized in T.I.F.L. (Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language). Students completing the course will receive an attendance certificate bearing the total hours attended and the reached competence level. The certificate may be presented to the students' home university that will assign credits according to its own rules.
